FIFENICOL

Broad spectrum antibiotic

Injectable solution containing (Florfenicol), which is a synthetic spectrum antibiotic and active against gram positive and gram negative bacteria.
The (Florfenicol) acts by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial protein, at the level of the ribosomes.

Indications:
  • In bovines for the treatment of:
    • Bovine respiratory complex caused by: Pasteurella multocida, Mannheimia (Pasteurella haemolytica), Haemophilus somnus.
    • Metritis: Corynebacterium pyogenes.
    • Infectious gastroenteritis caused by: Escherichia coli, Salmonella sp.
    • Infectious poweritis caused by: Fusobacterium necrophorum, Bacteroides melaninogenicus.
  • In swines for the treatment of:
    • Pneumonia, Pleuropneumonia and Rinits caused by: Mycoplasma sp, Pasteurella multocida, Haemophilus parasuis, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae.
    • Infectious gastroenteritis caused by: Escherichia coli, Salmonella sp.
Guaranteed composition:

Each mL of solution for injection contains:

  • Florfenicol 300 mg
  • Excipients q.s. 1 mL
Route of administration:

Intramuscular route.

Dosage:
  • Bovines: administer 20 mg of Florfenicol per kg of live weight, in practice apply 1 mL of FIFENICOL for every 15 kg, repeat the dose after 48 hours.
  • Swines: administer 15 mg of Florfenicol per kg of live weight, in practice apply 1 mL of FIFENICOL for every 20 kg, repeat the dose after 48 hours.
Withdrawal time:
  • Treated animals should not be sacrificed for human consumption until 36 days after the end of treatment.
  • Do not administer in cows whose milk is intended for human consumption.
Cautions:
  • Hypersensitivity to the components of the product.
  • Do not apply more than 20 mL to cattle and no more than 3 mL to pigs per injection site.
  • Keep below 30 °C.
