MELOXI CAN

Indicated to treat acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders, reduction of pain before and after orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries.

Guaranteed composition:

Each mL of oral suspension contains:

• Meloxicam 2 mg
• Excipients q.s. 1 mL

Species for which it is recommended:

Dogs and cats.

Route of administration:

Orally only. Meloxi Can can be fed directly into the animal’s mouth or mixed with food.

Dosage:

• In dogs: Give a single dose of 0,2 mg of Meloxicam per kg of body weight in the first dose (equivalent to 1 mL of Meloxi Can per 10 kg). As a continuation of the treatment, it is suggested to administer from the second day a dose of 0,1 mg of Meloxicam per kg of live weight, (this is equivalent to 0,5 mL of Meloxi Can per 10 kg) every 24 hours, for 5 to 7 days.
• In cats: Give a single dose of 0,1 mg of Meloxicam per kg of body weight in the first dose (equivalent to 0,1 mL of Meloxi Can per 2 kg). As a continuation of the treatment, it is suggested to administer from the second day a dose of 0,05 mg of Meloxicam per kg of body weight (this is equivalent to 0,05 mL of Meloxi Can for every 2 kg) every 24 hours, for 5 to 7 days.

Cautions:

• The prescribed dose must be administered exactly.
• When it is given through food, make sure that all the medicine is consumed.
• In cases of hypersensitivity or side effects to the product, treatment should be discontinued.
• Do not administer concomitantly with other NSAIDs or corticosteroids.
• Keep in a cool, dry place, protected from light.

Contraindications:

Do not use in pregnant or lactating animals or those under 6 weeks of age or in patients with dehydration, hypovolemia, gastric irritation or ulcer, bleeding, liver, heart or kidney disorders.
